The Jewish Study Center, a Washington, D.C – based nonprofit offering a wide array of classes and program of Jewish content, is looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Jewish education and possess a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape. All applicants should have a personal laptop (ideally with Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) and will need to be comfortable working remotely. Hours will vary based upon need, with an estimated average of 10 hours per week. 

The successful candidate will collaborate to build and implement a robust communications schedule, monitor and post on social media networks, and occasionally assist with events. Those looking to help an established organization with rigorous scholarly content gain a foothold in the digital space are encouraged to apply.

Intern Responsibilities

Work with board members to: 
• create and implement a communications strategy 
• develop content calendars
• compose and send out weekly emails via Constant Contact (training available)
• monitor analytics to identify opportunities for increased outreach
• create engaging website, blog, and social media content
• assist in the distribution of press releases, media alerts, flyers, and brochures 
• provide occasional support at live events 
• complete some basic data entry 
• complete other duties as assigned 

Desired Qualifications
• Current college student or Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
• Ability to work independently/remotely 
• Demonstrated experience in social media marketing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• In-depth working knowledge of social media analytics 
• Basic graphic design skills
