The Washington, DC-based Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) bridges the language gap by translating the region’s print, online, and broadcast media so that Western governments and the general public may better understand the regions’ political, social, cultural, economic, religious, and ideological dynamics. One of MEMRI’s key research endeavors is the MEMRI Lantos Archives on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial. Other projects include Jihad and Terrorism Studies, Cyber & Jihad Lab, Russia Media Studies, MEMRI TV, and Middle East Reform.

Internship duties include numerous, substantive research and administrative tasks, assistance to office personnel and general office duties.  Research topics may include U.S. foreign policy; Middle East & South Asian affairs; terrorism, counterterrorism, national security, & cyber security; social media; U.S. Congress; & philanthropy & donor outreach.

Prospective interns should have up-to-date knowledge of and interest in the Middle East, foreign affairs, and/or counterterrorism, as well as some research and writing work experience. Interns must commit to at least 12 hours per week and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Class year of Junior or higher preferred, but not required. MEMRI internships are unpaid.
