Multiple chapters across Seaboard USY and Kadima are looking for USY & Kadima Advisors for the 2017-2018 school year. Seaboard Region USY spreads throughout all of Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and northeastern North Carolina.  

Chapters meet regularly for a variety of activities, including social outings, educational programs, and community service opportunities. The region sponsors many programs throughout the year, including conventions, dances, and a basketball league, which are coordinated between the Regional Youth Director and the chapters.

United Synagogue Youth is the international youth organization for 6th – 12th graders of the Conservative Movement. For over 60 years, USY has been involving and educating Jewish teens across North America, teaching them about life, friendship, religion and leadership while changing their lives forever.

This job requires 8 to 15 hours a week from August 15, 2017 – June 15, 2018. 

Job Responsibilities include:

- Membership recruitment, engagement, and retention of USY & Kadima members in the synagogue community. This includes regular communication and outreach with USY & Kadima members, non-members, and parents.

- Working with the chapter USY board by scheduling monthly meetings, having regular check-ins with the Chapter President, and guiding the board in their leadership roles.

- Event Planning and Coordination – Help USY members plan, organize, and implement events OR planning, organizing, and implementing Kadima events. This includes keeping track of RSVPs, payments and receipts.

- Communicate regularly with the synagogue Youth Director as well as the community.

- Staffing USY & Kadima Seaboard Regional Events including Encampment, Fall and Spring Conventions, Kadima Kallot, LTI, Formal, Winter Kinnus, and Kings Dominion Day.
